Search on-line bibliographic databases, such as PubMed. Use stand alone or within Microsoft Word. Installed by request. Adobe Professional Create, edit and view PDF files. Windows and Mac OSX. Provides extra toolbar in MS Word. Installed by request. MathType Replacement Equasion editor for MS Word. Can be used with other programs as well and to author web pages that contain mathematical symbols. Installed by request. LaTeX A document preparation system for high-quality typesetting. It is most often used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents, but it can be used for almost any form of publishing. Not a word processor! Instead, LaTeX encourages authors not to worry too much about the appearance of their documents, but to concentrate on getting the right content. Windows version: MiKTeX. For a text editor with syntax highlighting install WinEdt. Linux: LaTeX is included with most Linux distributions. Web Calender Used to schedule experiments, track meetings, travel and vacation.
