REMOTE ACCESS Secure Shell Client Used to access Unix and Linux servers remotely, SSH provides encrypted remote shell access, network file transfers, and tunneling capabilities. Windows workstations are installed with a commercial version funded by the University of Iowa. Linux desktops and servers within the lab utilize openSSH. X WinPro Provides an "X Server" to Windows desktops. When used with SSH allows the display of graphical applications run on a Unix/Linux server to be redirected (tunneled) to the user's workstation. |
